Kilt walk update

Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 outbreak this years Kilt Walk has been cancelled. Thanks to everyone at Friends of Sanderson who volunteered to do the walk - we'll see you at the start line next year!

Thank you to the Co-op Community Fund

A heartfelt thank you to the Cambuslang and Rutherglen area Co-op Community Fund for their support and generosity. Between October 2018 and 2019 they managed to raise several thousand pounds for the charity as well as provide much needed materials for our fundraising events.

Leaver's Trip 2019A

Almost all of our seniors attended Center Parcs in Penrith for the annual Leaver's Trip. They got to engage in a range of fun and exciting activities such as high ropes challenge, a day at the spa and plenty of time spent in the pool! This went hand in hand with using the life skills they've developed at school and college such as cooking, cleaning and working as a team. These trips are invaluable to our pupils and Friends of Sanderson are proud to raise money to help fund these experiences for our pupils.

Success story

Thanks to funding for lessons being provided by Friends of Sanderson, S2 pupil Leo Raper has recently learned to swim. Well done Leo!

Christmas cafe

Friends Of Sanderson hosted a stall at Sanderson High School's Christmas Cafe. As well as selling goody bags and other items to raise over £160 for the charity, we also showed off some of our recent achievements and raised awareness amongst attendees, many of whom were past pupils or parents from the school. The number of people signing up for the charity extremely encouraging. If you would also like to support us then please consider subscribing to our mailing list for updates and information on projects we are undertaking.

Sanderson BBQ and Official launch

The charity was formally launched during the annual Sanderson High School BBQ. The event involved a talks by the Head Teacher and Randall Wilson from The Furnishing Service. This was followed by the showing of our We Are Sanderson video and the opportunity to sign up as a Friend of Sanderson at the manned stall. Dozens of names were gathered for the mailing list and the BBQ itself raised over £2,500 for the school fund.

Frank Bruno M.B.E. & Zoe Balfour

Former WBC Heavyweight Champion Frank Bruno and Miss Scotland 2018 Finalist Zoe Balfour are Friends of Sanderson. The pair lent their support to the charity and visited the school on Wednesday the 6th of June 2018.
